Bobby on Star Wars:

I haven't been good about blogging (or even reading my favorite blogs) since the holidays began. Been trying to spend less time in front of the computer and more time doing things that last.

BUT... I couldn't resist sharing this one. I was downloading pictures today from our little camera and was clicking though them to see what we've been doing lately and came across a dozen still pictures of random stuff in the house. Then there was this one!! Chistmas came early for me because I LOVE this of Bobby. I hope you like it.

Needless to say... Bobby recorded it himself. He even provided his own little special sound effects. I asked his permission to share this and he was okay with it. A bit surprising.

Silly boy!

Butterfly Clones

We celebrated Halloween in Branson. That evening a stomach bug began moving through our family. We went trick-or-treating at a local mall and Joseph came later with Ian because he'd been at home getting acquainted with a puke bucket. Gross? Yep. Sorry. But he REALLY wanted to trick-or-treat.

So Joseph and Ian arrive about 45 minutes after Evan, Heather, myself and the six other kids. There were LOTS of young kids there. Shortly after Joseph and Ian arrive to trick-or-treat Ian has his last bout with the stomach bug... right there by some old dude's Buick. We tried not to get it on his bumper. Sorry old-dude-who-drives-a-Buick. Your next car wash is on us!

Here's Ian. Not feeling 100%. Not feeling 70%. But he was such a good sport about letting me snap a couple pictures.

I told Bobby right before taking his picture to pretend he cut this tree down with his lightsaber and he quickly informed me that Star Wars Clone Troopers don't carry lightsabers. What was I thinking?!? Isn't he cute! This is the first year we bought costumes-- ever. They were really proud.

Last year we made costumes  and they were Obi-Wan, Young Anaikan and Princes Leia.

2007

Gini Lu wanted to be a butterfly. I like to stick with themes (like above), but she asked several times to be a butterfly so we didn't press the matter. She wore makeup- which is rare- actually never happens, so she felt particularly beautiful and VERY proud!

Gini Lu and cousin Allison- the pirate- had a blast together.

Sisters Emma and Addie were snow princesses.

Trey was a snuggly little bear.

A childhood friend is a student at C of O and she met us to trick-or-treat. Katie snuggled with the bear-- lots! He didn't seem to mind too much either! Thanks for meeting up with it Katie! It was great seeing you again. But, let's not wait 20 years this time!

Halloween was great fun but the stomach bug Ian had hit Bobby, Joseph and myself on Saturday morning, so it's nice to look back at the pictures since it was soon forgotten.

Vacation

We met Suzanne's brother, Evan and his wife Heather (and their brood) in Branson last week. It was a good meeting point and Suz's 10th college reunion at C of O.

James kids on left and Midgette kids on right.

Somehow a picture of ALL of us didn't happen. So here are the "responsible" adults. Picture by Ian.

The first night we spent as just the James family. Took a walk around the golf course and had a black walnut war. We later found out we weren't allowed to be on the golf course or risk serious fines. Oops! I guess that tree trunk we rolled into the river was just helping the crew a little with the golf course redesign. Glad to help!

Yes, I'm a dork when it comes to recording with the camera. I was born in the 70's! This is a kid's job!

Oh yea. We had dance lessons one night too.

Dear Daddy...

We are so glad your business trip is going great. Mom says she misses you. We do too.

Here are some pictures from our weekend with our friends. We miss you and can't wait until we get to go see SHARKS! with you.

Love,
Ian, Bobby and Gini Lu

Watch out Daddy, I'm almost as tall as you! You know what that means--- I can beat you at wrestling!

Texan to the core!

I'm your girl, Daddy!

Giddy-Up! Daddy, I chose this picture for the blog. I wanted to be sure we were both in the picture. I like this horse.

STOP!

I realize that Gini Lu is over-represented here on this blog. Sorry. She just supplies too much material for me.

Here I'm yelling STOP from the bedroom as I hear the front door open. It's 59 outside this afternoon and she is DRASTICALLY under dressed! The boys were playing outside and I'm guessing she wanted to join them.

Need I point out the serious fashion problems she presents? My! Oh, my! Yes, that's a plastic watergun and there are "diamond" sparkles on the shoes too.

Bobby did say something cute today. He informs me:

“I’m left-handed.” (While holding up his right hand.)

“That’s your right hand," I correct him.

 “Ok. I’m right-handed.”

Ordinarily, this guy would argue with me. Today he didn't.  But he did want to debate which hand is better. I just let that one go. An attorney one day is my only guess.
